Announcements:

The 21 Hop + Shop is now underway! Ride Route 21 on Lake Street and get special savings at over 80 participating businesses. Check out Metro Transit's interactive map and user's guide for everything you need to know.
Obsidian Arts wants to put together a holiday project at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Lake Street called "Stories on Chicago and Lake". Their goal is to use writers and artists to develop holiday-themed stories and artwork for the windows of businesses at that intersection, in order to increase pedestrian interest. They are in need of some additional funding to make this project a reality for 2006. If you are interested in supporting it, please contact Joyce Wisdom at 612-822-0232.
Lake Street Council is looking for great Lake Street photos for a marketing brochure we are creating, especially ones that show groups of people outside having a meal or participating in an activity. If you have such photos that you would be willing to share, or know someone who might, please let us know.
Lake Street from 21st Avenue to 14th Avenue will be opened back to four lanes of traffic by the end of next week!

Part performance, part experiential ritual, and part civic lesson this groundbreaking performance series will link plumbers with puppeteers, actors with activists, hydrologists with musicians, and engineers with video artists to promote the communal responsibility for the stewardship of one of our most precious resources: WATER!

October 12th: PPNA 2nd Annual Fundraising Dinner & Silent Auction

A night of music, food and drinks to raise funds to support community programming for Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association, including art pieces for auction donated by local artists.

October 16th: Longfellow Community Council Fundraiser

Support LCC and sample a variety of wines and non-alcoholic beverages. Cost is $25 per person; contact LCC to RSVP.

October 20th and 21st: Tickling Ivories and Mixing Media at Patrick's Cabaret

An evening of stories, music, poetry, memoir and more, with performances by the Americans with Disabilities Alliance.
