Lake:
Check out the new
November edition of the Longfellow Nokomis
Messenger. Included is a front-page story about the
resilience of 27th & Lake businesses while 27th has been
shut down for construction over the past couple months. Also inside: how Lake
Street photographer Wing Young Huie is carrying his experience photographing
this street forward into his new University Avenue project. And where can you
get both a Lake Street USA book and an original Lake Street print,
both signed by Wing Young Huie? That's right, at our silent
auction.
In just two days from now,
November 1st, tickets for In the Heart of the Beast Theatre's La Natividadgo on sale. A retelling of the nativity story, the evening
starts at Mercado Central, moves to Avalon Theatre, and then makes a
procession to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church on 15th Ave. Last year's
performances sold out fast so HOBT is recommending everyone to buy tickets

November 1st is
also the first day for Farm
in the Market's Grand Re-Opening Weekend. They've tripled their
space in the Midtown Global Market and expanded their offerings to include
salads, sandwiches, deli meats, and artisan cheese. This week, starting at
4:00 PM on Thursday & Friday and 11:00 AM on Saturday & Sunday,
drop by to get a sampling of their fares, enter to give gift

Transit is reporting that starting Wednesday at noon, their
busses will end their detour in the east segment of
construction.

Street This shadow puppet show follows Tortuga Turtle
traveling through the universe using his inner strength to overcome the
obstacles that life presents.

A Nordic Christmas, at the American Swedish
Institute 2600 Park Ave. This annual
holiday exhibit features the 100-year-old Turnblad mansion decorated for
Christmas, and highlights traditions of Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Norway and
Sweden with decorated trees and table settings for each Nordic country.

Ave. "The Flaming Film Festival burns up Patrick's Cabaret with a kick off
celebration featuring a local all star cast!"

17th: Indian of the Future vs. Buffalo Man, at Intermedia Arts 7:30 PM,
2822 Lyndale Ave. S. This unique collaboration introduces two signature
performance characters -- Buffalo Man and Indian of the Future -- to one
another. For the first time on stage, the two will face each other in an epic
battle for the right to protect Indian Country...or will
they?
