The Lake Street Council's mission is to build a cohesive strategy to ensure the ongoing vitality of the Lake Street Corridor business community.

Announcements:

The Lake Street Survey is now up and running! This survey is our initiative to put together a comprehensive database of Lake Street businesses, their demographics, and their needs, and use that information to be of even greater help to the area. So if you own a business or property on Lake Street or within a block of it, help us help you by taking our survey today. We will also be conducting it by going to businesses door-to-door ourselves.
And that's not all Lake Street Council is doing this week -- the launch of the 21 Hop + Shop program takes place this Thursday, starting at 5:30 PM, at the Midtown Global Market! Brochures from Metro Transit describing the program and giving a map of where to get your discounts can already be found at participating businesses, and at the Lake Street Council office. And don't forget, you can also see a list of businesses and their discounts on our website, and soon on www.metrotransit.org as well. Start hopping, shopping, and saving on Lake Street this Thursday!

With Renee Allen's injury, the Midtown Safety Center will be staffed on a part-time basis by other Minneapolis Police Department Personnel until her return. The current schedule for the Center is as follow: Mondays 10 AM - 4:30 PM, Tuesdays 10 AM - 6 PM, Wednesdays 10:30 AM - 5 PM, Thursdays 10 AM - 5 PM, Fridays 10 AM - 2 PM.

The City Council's Public Safety & Regulatory Services Committee will hold a special public hearing on the appointment of a new police chief on Wednesday, October 18 at 9:30 AM. It will take place at City Hall, 350 South 5th Street.
