The Lake Street Council's mission is to build a cohesive strategy to ensure the ongoing vitality of the Lake Street Corridor business community.

The Latest on Lake:

Business security is an important fact of life for any business owner. That's why the Chicago-Lake Business Association is sponsoring an all-nodes meeting on the subject, from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM on October 16th at the Midtown Sheraton on Chicago & Lake. US Bank's manager of corporate security, Raandi Nelson, will be presenting on how to protect from employee theft, cash handling mistakes, and many more tips. Corcoran Neighborhood Organization's next mural project will be one that reflects the history of transportation on Lake Street, and is taking place at the Maaco Auto Center at 2005 East Lake Street. It's happening this weekend, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. If interested in participating or for more info, contact eric@corcoranneighborhood.org. The October issue of The Alley newspaper is now available on our website. Among the Lake Street news in this edition: the large mural on the St. Vincent de Paul store at 12th & Lake, created by local youth; more on Schatzlein Saddle Shop's 100 years in business (celebration happening this Sunday!); Lake Street businesses like Cash'N'Pawn and Magers & Quinn Booksellers participating in Hennepin County's Choose to Reuse month; and a big 1929 photo of construction of the Sears building on the front cover.

October 10th: City of Minneapolis Transportation / Streetcar Meeting

One of nine public meetings the City of Minneapolis is hosting to discuss the City’s draft Ten-Year Transportation Plan and its Streetcar Feasibility Study.
