A big
thank you to everyone who contributed, volunteered, and came to our annual
fundraiser! It contributes a lot to making sure Lake Street Council has the
resources it needs to get things done in the area, and we couldn't do it
without you.

Lake
Street Council is sponsoring quarterly business-to-business parties, to
increase networking opportunities and give people who work on Lake Street a
chance to better know each other. The first event is planned for Thursday,
December 7th, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Carne Asada, 809 East Lake Street. Mark
your calendars!

The Longfellow Nokomis Messenger is announcing a Holiday Gift
Guide for the December issue of the newspaper, deadline November 10. The paper
will be out Nov. 22, and will present an ideal timing opportunity for
area merchants to remind folks about where they can find unique holidays
gifts that can't be found at those suburban malls. Shop locally! Dennis Stern
is heading up the new gift guide. $175 for a 4-color ad. Give Dennis

State
Representative Neva Walker (61B) will join Lake Street Council to visit a few
Lake Street businesses in her district on November 22nd. We are tentatively
planning to stop at Ingebretsen's, Manny's & La Loma at the Mercado, El
Amor Fashion, Champions, and Beaux Le Tress Designers. We are expecting to be
out from 11:00 to 2:30. We will share further details as they are
confirmed.

readers. Specifically for placement within their
Design Directions section. Let us know and we'll help you get the word

Lake Street Council joins in
welcoming the African Development Center's newest staff member.
Nasibu S. Sareva joins ADC as a business analyst, providing
technical assistance, loan packaging and general advisory services to small
and emerging businesses. He will also lead ADC’s 2007 launch of business
accounting services for their clients.
