Lake Street Council's
mission is to build
a cohesive strategy to ensure the ongoing vitality
of the Lake Street Corridor business community.
The Latest on
Lake:
- Only TWO DAYS to go until our
annual wine tasting/silent
auction fundraiser! This is a great chance to support our efforts
on Lake Street while also having a great evening and networking with others
from around the area. If you don't have tickets already, buy them online now
or get them at the door. Remember, you can also check out our website
to get a preview of the wines and auction items we'll have
available.
- Last Thursday's Star Tribune had a multi-page feature
on Lake Street that is a must-see. Rick Nelson travels all
of Lake Street from west to east, writing up 20 great dining options. On the
Web, there's also a photo
gallery on the changing face of Lake Street, and an
interactive
map. Check it out!
- Good news at the Midtown Global
Market, with Chase Brook Natural
Farms signing up to bring in their local and naturally-raised
selection of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and bison to the Market. Local dairy,
eggs, and honey from other farms will soon follow. In other Market news,
Goodwill Easter Seals' Customer Service Star Award for the
month of October went to the Produce Exchange, in recognition
of the clean and attractive space they always maintain. Congratulations to
them.
- Tiger
Sushi will be opening Monday next week at 2841 Lyndale Ave., the
Murals of Lyn-Lake building. They'll be open for dinner every night, with a
4:00 - 6:00 PM happy hour, and will be open for lunch on the
weekend.
- Council
Member Ralph Remington is proposing annual fees and
inspections for sidewalk news boxes in Minneapolis.
Many such news boxes can be found on Lake Street. See this

options for the holidays from local green and fair trade vendors and
artists. In addition, the gifts fair offers workshops and information
