Lake Street News Brief
Lake Street Council's
mission is to build
a cohesive strategy to ensure the ongoing vitality
of the Lake Street Corridor business community.
The Latest on
Lake:
- There are just NINE DAYS left
until our annual wine/beer tasting and silent auction, one of
the best events on Lake Street. We've now printed the program for the evening
and it is available on our website,
so be sure to check out all the great wines, beer, and items we'll have for
you at El Nuevo Rodeo. For this year's silent auction, we have signed
Muhammad Ali boxing gloves, tickets to the Vikings, Wild, and
Timberwolves, gift certificates to your favorite shops and restaurants, and a
whole lot more. And while you're looking it
over, don't forget to buy tickets on that same page!
- We hope you've received our newest Lake
Line newsletter in the mail. If you haven't seen it yet, you can
download and read it here. See
updates on our area rack cards project, our Visit Lake Street website, a
report from our marketing panels, a spotlight on Open Eye Figure
Theatre, and more!
- Peace Coffee had a nice feature in
the Star Tribune recently, which said they are "changing the world a cup at a
time." It's about they're supporting fair trade coffee and sustainable
delivery practices, and making money while doing so.
- Another recent Lake
Street story, this one from the Southwest Journal, took
a look at Al Hagen and Yesterday's Auto.
After a long history of selling vintage cars, Yesterday's Auto is
transitioning to an appraisal business with some of the retail space at 2800
Lyndale Ave. being leased out to other businesses.
- Don't miss the November edition of
The Alley newspaper, which we've now made available.
Of note to Lake Street are several tributes to Joyce Krook's
work at Allina/ANW, a story on the Produce Exchange in the
Midtown Global Market, and another great story from Pioneers and
Soldiers Cemetery.

Coalition has posted sketches of the proposed walkway on the
Greenway's north edge between Chicago Ave. & Portland Ave. Check
them out.

Rudolph's. Gift certificates to their restaurants are another auction item to
