- Clothes: Lake Street has the right pick
for every closet. Uptown Savvy is a trendy boutique located in the
Lyn-Lake area that has clothing, shoes, accessories and more to get that chic
runway look. Not your style? Try Kaplan Bros. to fill those orders on
your list for the best work clothes available. Carhart is always a favorite.
Don’t forget warm socks and undies. For Levis, leather boots, vintage clothing
and an assortment of accessories, you will find it all at the Corner
Store.
- Dance: Get that heart rate pumping while
having a amazing experience touching up on your steps or learning them for the
first time at the Rendezvous Dance Studio.

reminder: our first quarterly Lake Street
business-to-business social is happening on Thursday, from 5 - 7 PM
at Carne Asada. If you are planning on coming, we would appreciate it if you
could let us know with an RSVP, so we can tell the Carne Asada staff what kind
of activity to anticipate. Simply reply to this e-mail to say you're
coming!

A new
restaurant has recently joined the Lake Street dining scene. The
Calypso Cafe is now open at 27th & Lake. Check out their website for the menu and hours,
and be sure to visit.

Further west, a new shopping destination can be found in the Lyn-Lake
area. The Deco Boutique "specializes in eclectic men and
women's accessories from all over the world", and should be another holiday
shopping destination worth checking out at 3007 Lyndale
Ave.

On December 11, 2006, the Minneapolis Department of Health and Family
Support will issue a Request for Proposals for Year 33 federal Community
Development Block Grant Public Service funds. Approximately $680,000
will be available in grants of up to $50,000 for a single agency, and up to
$100,000 for collaborative projects across two or more agencies, for the
period of June 1, 2007 - May 31, 2008, subject to final approval by the City
Council.
