January 24th: Meeting on the Urban Partnership Agreement
6:30 PM, 4537 3rd Ave. S.
The City's Transportation and Public Works Committee will hold a special committee meeting on Jan 24th, 6:30 pm, at St Joan of Arc (4537 Third Ave S) to discuss the Urban Partnership Agreement, a federally-funded program that will help implement BRT on I-35W and will use free-flow pricing (tolls) in a lane shared with the BRT.

January 25th & 26th: Arturo Miles Somewhat 80s Variety Show, at Patrick's Cabaret

An evening of comedy dance, comedy improv, singing and freestyle hip-hop dance form.

January 26th: Global Soup Kick-Off, at Midtown Global Market
12:00 - 2:00 PM, 920 East Lake Street
Sample a dozen soup recipes created by Market vendors and vote for your favorite. A donation of $3 is requested. Proceeds benefit Powderhorn Park Kidz Cafe.

January 27th: Catch 28, at Bryant Lake Bowl

A Brooklyn-based dance, theater, performance and video series presenting short works curated and hosted by Andrew Dinwiddie and Jeff Larson.

January 29th
: Out Rage Us, at Patrick's Cabaret

"Welcomed by Dante's Inferno reincarnated, visitors are set to be ART Raged by some of Minnesota's freest spirits, in a collaborative show that promises to be political, transgressive, sassy and fun."

"Local favorite Sarah Agnew portrays more than 20 characters in this virtuoso one-woman show."

February 2nd: "Love Rox" Fundraiser for Intermedia Arts
5:30 PM - Midnight, 2822 Lyndale Ave. S.
A Valentine's Day themed event, it will feature a silent auction, graffiti valentines, kissing booth, grab bags, hair styling, wine and chocolate, and an attempt to set the Guinness World Record for longest Twister marathon. Call 612-871-4444 to save on advance tickets.

February 7th: Uptown Association Meeting: What's Your Artitude?

An event geared to local businesses and organizations to inform them about what the Uptown Art Fair is all about.

Beginning February 8th: Eleanor's Cabinet, at Open Eye Figure Theatre

"Eleanor's Cabinet draws from the poems of the English writer Eleanor Farjeon, in a celebration of imagination and creativity."

February 12th: Planning Meeting for the MayDay Parade, at In the Heart of the Beast Theatre
7:00 PM, 1500 East Lake Street
Ideas for the parade will be discussed and staff will develop storyboard around the ideas. At a later meeting, community members can provide feedback on the storyboards.

February 14th: Business Energy Solutions at Longfellow Business Association Meeting
8:30 - 9:30 AM, 4610 East Lake Street (West River Commons community room)
This presentation will focus on simple, low/no cost recommendations for business owners who lease or own.  Many businesses can easily save 10% off their utility costs. Come see how.

A colorful, interactive gallery experience that highlights the connections between people and place in Lake Street's past, present, and future.

Every Tuesday: Informational Meetings at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School

Cristo Rey welcomes 8th and 9th grade students and their parents to learn more about the school as a possibility for next year's 9th and 10th grades. Call to make an appointment at 612-545-9704.
