January 6, 2010
Lake
Street Council's mission is to build
a cohesive strategy to ensure the ongoing vitality
of the Lake Street Corridor business community.
The Latest on Lake:
- As a reminder, during these cold and snowy winter
months, please be sure the sidewalks and curb areas in front of your
business get cleared of ice and snow. One to two inches of new snow are
forecast late tonight (Wednesday) and into Thursday morning.
- Congratulations to Mike Phillips at The Craftsman for
winning Heavy Table's 2009
Silver Whisk award for Best Chef. Heavy Table says the award is "in
recognition of his unwavering support of local food and his thoughtful
approach to creating truly handmade cuisine."
- Congratulations also to Risotto Italian Restaurant at
610 West Lake. Their affogato made the Pioneer Press's list of 10
best dishes of 2009. "With this grown-up sundae,
it's all about the
quality of the ingredients, and Risotto chef/owner Gabriele Lo Pinto
uses the very best — two generous scoops of creamy, rich vanilla bean
ice cream drowned in perfectly brewed espresso."
- 60 photos from Wing Young Huie's Lake
Street USA exhibit have been donated the City of Minneapolis by The
Harrington Company,
and will be displayed in various City buildings, including city hall.
