Lake Street Calendar - Upcoming Events:

February 12th: Planning Meeting for the MayDay Parade, at In the Heart of the Beast Theatre
7:00 PM, 1500 East Lake Street
Ideas for the parade will be discussed and staff will develop storyboard around the ideas. At a later meeting, community members can provide feedback on the storyboards.

February 13th: Breakfast With Ralph
7:30 - 9:00 AM, 3220 West Lake Street (Calhoun Grill)
With guest speaker Susan Segal, who has been nominated to be the next Minneapolis City Attorney. Susan will discuss her vision and plans for the City Attorney’s Office, as well as, the role she and other city attorneys play in public safety.


February 14th: Business Energy Solutions at Longfellow Business Association Meeting
8:30 - 9:30 AM, 4610 East Lake Street (West River Commons community room)
This presentation will focus on simple, low/no cost recommendations for business owners who lease or own.  Many businesses can easily save 10% off their utility costs. Come see how.

February 15th & 16th: Kinetic Kitchen, at Patrick's Cabaret
8:00 PM, 3010 Minnehaha Ave.
Sarah La Rose Holland's Kinetic Kitchen returns. Ingredients prepared by chefs.

February 16th: Community Safety Fair
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, 1516 East Lake Street (Plaza Verde)
A family-friendly event to establish relationships between the police and the community.

February 19th: Phillips Weed & Seed Volunteer Party, at Open Eye Theatre
5:00 - 8:00 PM, 506 East 24th Street
Featuring a short production by Open Eye, awards, food, and music.

A dozen Lake Street restaurants will be joining the "most delicious weekend of the year", don't miss it!

March 4th: Chat with the Chief, presented by the City of Lakes Chamber of Commerce
7:30 - 9:00 AM, 920 East Lake Street (Midtown Global Market)
"Chatting with Police Chief Tim Dolan on issues facing the City in 2008. Learn what businesses can do to assist in the City's policing efforts to ensure Minneapolis is a safe place to visit, work and conduct business." $20 for Chamber of Commerce members, $30 for non-members.

March 8th: South Minneapolis Housing & Home Improvement Fair
10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3131 19th Ave. S. (South High School)
"The Housing Fair promotes home improvement, project financing, city living, and local neighborhood involvement." Free and open to the public.

Every Tuesday: Informational Meetings at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School

Cristo Rey welcomes 8th and 9th grade students and their parents to learn more about the school as a possibility for 9th and 10th grades. For appointments call 612-545-9704. A college prep education for students from families of low income. Transportation/financial aid available.
