The Lake Street Council's mission is to build a cohesive strategy to ensure the ongoing vitality of the Lake Street Corridor business community.

Announcements:

The police department is doing a survey on policing suggestions for part of the 3rd precinct, which includes Lake Street from 35W to Hiawatha. You can find a PDF copy of the survey here on our website. Complete it and send it to Karen Notsch as indictaed to express your opinion on what the police can do about graffiti, pedestrian lighting, better communication, and other Lake Street issues. If you are not in the Midtown area, Karen may also be able to pass on your concerns to officers in your precinct.

Through June 8th, Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association will be sponsoring Kids Cafe, a project that will be serving dinner to youth at Powderhorn Park Community Center every Friday from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. They are looking for different organizations and community residents come and volunteer a different day to serve the youth dinner that will already be prepared, and interact with the youth. If you are interested in volunteering or donating food, contact Shonda Allen at 612-722-4817 or shonda@ppna.org. And if you know any youth you feel would benefit from the program, let them know about it.

Following a tradition started 17 years ago in the Twin Cities, White Castle restaurants transform themselves Wednesday from basic walk-in counter service to a fine-dining venue complete with candlelight, tablecloths and wait staff in the decorated dining room. All area White Castles are participating, so be sure to check out the one on Lake Street and 36th.

The St. Paul Chapter of SCORE is presenting a “Marketing your Business” seminar on February 28. This four-hour seminar will include market planning, understanding your business, defining customer and target markets, using marketing tools and developing pricing and sales strategies. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hiway Federal Credit Union, 840 Westminster St., St. Paul MN 55101. A $39 fee includes booklets and other materials.
