The Lake Street
Council's mission is to build a cohesive strategy to ensure the ongoing vitality
of the Lake Street Corridor business community.
The Latest on
Lake:
One of last year's Lake Street
Ambassadors came to us recently looking for a part-time job, and we
thought we should pass this on along with our strong recommendation. If you're
looking to hire for an afternoon and/or weekend position that would be
suitable for a teenager, let us know and we will put you in contact. You would
be hiring someone with a lot of Lake Street experience, both through his
school and the work he did with us last summer.
With construction coming soon, Metro
Transit will be detouring Lake Street buses,
beginning this Thursday. Between Grand and Emerson Avenues, 21 and 53 buses
will be traveling on 31st Street. Remember, for the latest construction
updates, join us at the Wednesday meetings at Champions, details below in the
Events section.
An upcoming fundraiser, "Fashioning A
Dream", will be featuring Patrick Scully from
Patrick's Cabaret as emcee and our local Council Member Elizabeth
Glidden as one of the models in the fashion show. The event will
raise money for a group of students to travel to South Dakota to study U.S.
and Native American history, and takes place on April 12th from 3:00 - 5:00 PM
at Picosa Restaurant (65 Main Street SE). We're hosting both the At-a-glance
information sheet and the Sponsor
a child form on our website; please consider attending and
sponsoring.
The Minnesota Observer Quarterly
was very pleased with a recent trip they took to the Global
Market, which included happening on a great of local musicians. Read about their trip, then
plan one of your own!
