April 21st: Small Business Roundtable: An Event
for
Organizations that Serve Small Businesses in Minnesota

WorkForce Center)
A Small Business Roundtable is an open forum with business stakeholders
that will allow us to exchange ideas, gather information about emerging
stakeholder issues, and maintain a continuing dialogue with stakeholder

April 27th: Greening Your Business
Expo

There will be more than 50 exhibitors showcasing
green products and services for the workplace. Admission is free with a
business card and pre-registration enters you into a drawing for two
Twins tickets.
April 30th: Breakfast with Gary Schiff

This month will feature speakers from the Somali Documentary Project,
which recently published a book charting the Somali diaspora.
April 30th: Early Mornings with Elizabeth Glidden

This month, Elizabeth welcomes Senator Linda Berglin (SD 61), Senator
Scott Dibble (SD 60), Representative Jeff Hayden (SD 61B), and
Representative Frank Hornstein (SD 60B) to update us on the 2010
legislative session.
May 4th: CIDNA Annual Meeting

Learn about Southwest LRT developments, summer construction,
neighborhood revitalization projects, and more. Including updates from
Council Members Lisa Goodman and Meg Tuthill, and other speakers.

April 15th - 17th: Dykes Do Drag, at Bryant
Lake Bowl
10:00 PM, 810 W. Lake St.
Mixing pop and politics, the gender-blending performers of Dykes Do
Drag have been entertaining and broadening horizons for audiences at
the Bryant Lake Bowl for eleven years. Claude Peck of the Star Tribune
likens the show to "a Savers fashion show in Genderbenderville." Join
the fun by coming in your own idea of drag!
April 16th - 18th: Somewhat Sci-Fi Variety Show, at Patrick's
Cabaret
8:00 PM Friday & Saturday, 6:00 PM Sunday, 3010 Minnehaha Ave.
An evening of hip-hop modern, singing, waacking, performance art,
comedy and
freestylin. All works inspired by science fiction culture.
April 17th: Record Store Day, at Hymie's and Extreme
Noise
3318 E. Lake St. at Hymie's, 407 W. Lake St. at Extreme Noise
Celebrate national Record Store Day at two Lake Street institutions. It
will be Hymie's
last day in their current location, and they've confirmed five live
acts to perform on that day: Martin Devaney, Adam Marshall of the
Humbugs, The Twin Cities Ukelele Orchestra, Stepped Reckonner, Fort
Road Five and Buffalo Moon. Extreme Noise will have food,
limited records and possibly an in-store performance too.
April 17th: Earth Day Celebration, at Midtown

Visitors are invited to meet local farmers and producers, visit with
environmental experts and shop for a variety of eco-friendly products.
Guests can learn about their impact on the environment at several
educational booths and activities. They can take the Minnesota Energy
Challenge, learn about water conservation, how to reduce toxins in
their homes, and more.
April 21st: "I Thought You Were Dead" author discussion

Pete Nelson reads from I Thought You Were Dead, a comic novel
that is "at once heartwarming, heartbreaking, and heart-wrenchingly
funny."

Bain Boehlke directs a stellar cast in an electrifying Jungle
production. When George, a disillusioned academic, and Martha, his
caustic wife, invite a handsome young professor and his mousy wife home
for a nightcap, an innocent night of fun and games quickly turns dark
and dangerous. Long-buried resentments are unleashed as George and
Martha turn their razor-sharp wits against each other, using their
guests as pawns in their verbal sparring. Winner of the Tony Award for
Best Play, and considered by many to be Albee’s masterpiece.

School: A MayDay Immersion, at In the Heart of the Beast Theatre

A hands-on, intensive course in learning how to make a parade at HOBT
and in the streets. Join the MayDay Staff Artists to envision, build
and rehearse the MayDay Parade.

Frank Theatre presents the premiere of an original company-developed
adaptation of Franz Kafka’s classic 1912 novella, Metamorphosis, one of
the most analyzed stories in modern literature that continues to elicit
vast interest and interpretation on the stage, in film and music.

glass, ceramics, wood, steel, and other materials.
