April 22nd: Out Rage Us Cabaret, at Patrick's Cabaret
9:00 PM, 3010 Minnehaha Ave.
Su Smallen will present her poem, To the Goddess of Love and Beauty, that was inspired by Outrageous in January. Su is the author of Weight of Light, which was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award, and her poems appear in literary journals including Bloom, Water-Stone Review, and Bellingham Review.

April 23rd
: Lake Street Construction Meeting
2:00 PM, 105 West Lake Street (Champions)
County & City project staff discuss the latest construction updates and listen and respond to business concerns.

April 25th
: Breakfast with Gary Schiff
7:30 - 9:00 AM, 1515 East Lake Street (Mercado Central)
Featuring Congressman Keith Ellison, who will speak about Iraq, Guantanamo Bay, and legislation to address the foreclosure crisis. $5 buys breakfast.

April 25th - 27th
: Frattallone's Official Grand Opening
3915 East Lake Street
Featuring numerous deals and giveaways. Free food each day starting at 11:00 AM from Manny's Tortas, Rail Station, and Holy Land.

April 26th: Midtown Greenway Arbor Day Planting
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, east of the Greenway bridge over Hiawatha
Help make the Greenway greener at the annual tree planting. Snacks, coffee, and shovels will be provided. A free smoothie for everyone who bikes to the event.

April 26th: Global Salad Sampler, at Midtown Global Market
12:00 - 2:00 PM, 920 East Lake Street
For $3 per person, taste a variety of salad recipes from Global Market vendors and vote for your favorite. Proceeds go to the Green Institute's GardenWorks program.

: Broken Brain Summit, at Old Arizona

"Heads will roll (and sing) when renegade researcher Dr. Dendrite gathers a motley crew of brain experts for a midnight meeting. A show filled with metal heads, talking plants, memory loss, anger management plans and a whole lot more!"

April 30th: Nicollet-Lake Business Association Meeting

Council Member Robert Lilligren will come to talk about the opening of Nicollet at Lake Street.

May 3rd: First Midtown Farmers' Market of the Season
8:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 22nd Ave. & Lake St.
Sheep shearing at 10:00 AM and noon, plus wool crafts, live music, and all your favorite local foods, art, and jewelry.

May 3rd: Spring Fling Thing, at Vera's Cafe

Featuring a pig roast and live music on the patio and parking lot.
