The Latest on Lake:
- Last week, local
foodie site Heavy Table took a bite
of the Manny's Tortas Pork Loin. "In addition to its warm roll
and thin, crisp pork loin, this sandwich showcases a multitude of
layers — lettuce, tomato, cheese, avocado, onion, jalapenos, beans, and
chipotle pepper mayo — pressed together in each tasty bite."
- City Pages reviews
their picks for top 5 spring salads, and both Barbette and Il
Gatto make the list. Barbette's Nicoise salad and Il Gatto's
insalata rucola both get the thumbs up.
- Also in City Pages, they call
Herkimer's happy hour "the perfect go-to happy hour when
you cannot decide where to go. The appetizer menu is extensive and
drink choices are so inviting. The fact that this is a brew pub is good
attraction as the selections are always changing. Sitting on the
sidewalk after work, sunglasses on, table full of beverages and snacks
= win." And they meet
local singer-songwriter Jeremy Messersmith in one of his favorite
places to write songs, the Midtown Global market.
- And Jungle Theater's Who's
Afraid of Virginia Woolf? keeps piling on the good press.
This past week, the Star Tribune profiled
the two veteran actors who play George and Martha.
