Paying your Lake Street
Council dues is now easier than ever! We've
created a page on our
website that lets you pay online, instantly, at the dues level
appropriate to you. Head on over and renew your membership for 2008 or
join today if you haven't already!
Phillips Partnership just put a nice profile of Officer
Jason Okerbergon their site that is well worth
a read. He is a Chicago-Lake beat officer who was just given a Public
Safety Award by the Partnership.
This is Bike to Work Week, and
the Midtown Greenwayis having some events soon that offer good reasons to start pedaling.
First, the Midtown Freewheel Bike Center opens on Friday. Get
there early for the ribbon cutting at 7:00 AM, and come by later from 4:00 -
7:00 PM for free food, music, and facility. Then on Sunday starting at 3:00
PM, the Midtown Greenway Bridge over Hiawatha will be
officially renamed in honor of former US House of Representatives member
Martin Sabo. A bike parade will also take place, and cyclists
from all over the region are encouraged to decorate their bikes and join
in.
The reviews are starting to come in for
Jade, the Midtown Global
Market's newest restaurant. Jeremy Iggers from The Rake
visited
recently, and was impressed by the seafood and sushi selections on the
dinner menu.

Ave. Eight teams of five young competitors will compete for prizes in best
coordination, teamwork & foot skills. Double Dutch is a sport in which one
person jumps rope with two ropes and one or more people jumping simultaneously.
Presented by Minneapolis Park and Recreation's Youthline Program & Midtown
