Through May 30th: Dummy: A Diplay, at Open Eye Figure Theatre
8:00 PM Fridays & Saturdays, late night 10:30 PM show on May 30th,
506 E. 24th St.
Open Eye Figure Theatre proudly presents a new signature work by
artistic director Michael Sommers, who explores the world of late
1950’s—early 1960’s children’s television programs and the influence of
burlesque, parlor tricks, gags, and carnival games. Dummy, A Display,
reveals that Leonard has succeeded in enticing El to revive the old act
and once again live the dream of the good old days. Of course, Leonard
has a lot riding on it and he might even know that he is setting
himself up just a little bit. But maybe the world is ready for their
act again. Maybe Leonard isn’t so bad to be around after all…maybe he
is still as exciting as he used to be.
