Events in the coming week on Lake Street include a "Swedish style in America" talk at Ingebretsen's on the 5th, an Exploring Wellness Expo at ZRS Fossils on the 6th, and the Patio Expo at Glacier's Cafe on the 8th.

June 4th: Early Mornings with Elizabeth Glidden

This fall, voters will elect 5 new Directors to the Minneapolis School Board, including 3 by district and 2 at-large representatives.  Meet several of the candidates, hear their vision for Minneapolis Public Schools, and have time for Q&A during this early morning event.  Candidates confirmed to date include:  Hussein Samatar, Alberto Monserrate, T Williams, Dick Mammen, Mohamud Noor, Chanda Smith Baker, and David DeGrio.


June 6th: LiveMSP "Buying into the City" Tour
11:00 AM, beginning at 920 E. Lake St. (Midtown Global Market)

From 11:00 - 1:00, Pick up a map, enjoy refreshments, talk to neighbors, and learn about homebuyer programs. >From 12:00 - 3:00, tour for-sale homes at your own pace!


June 9th
: Fair Hiring Forum: Building a Better Workforce - New Criminal Records Laws & Policies
8:00 - 11:30 AM, 1000 LaSalle Ave. Room 201 (University of St. Thomas)
Learn about laws and policies regarding hiring people with criminal records, and policies that will help develop a stronger, more diverse workforce while remaining safe and limiting all types of liability.

June 10th: Longfellow Business Association Annual Legislative Update
11:45 AM - 1:30 PM, 4300 W. River Parkway (Becketwood Cooperative)

June 11th: US Bank "100 Years in Longfellow & Seward" Celebration
