Lake Street News
Brief
The Lake Street
Council's mission is to build a cohesive strategy to ensure the ongoing vitality
of the Lake Street Corridor business community.
The Latest on Lake:
We asked,
and they delivered. Among the deals to keep in mind in the Lyn-Lake area:
Uptown Savvy has a
big sale going. Buy one item, get a second of equal or lesser value for a flat
rate of only $20. Hurry because this one is limited time. Hair By Morgan is offering a
construction sale of 10% all products and jewelry, and further deals
ranging from $5 off a haircut to $100 off extensions. And look for Bryant Lake Bowl to
offer construction happy hours and Buck Off night on Wednesdays -- $1 bowling
and $1 beers.
Lake Street features prominently in
this year's Taste
50. At #21: "It’s hard to imagine a more delicious commute than
Metro Transit’s route 21, which runs the length of newly spiffy Lake
Street in Minneapolis, linking diners to Cafe Barbette, Bryant-Lake Bowl, jP
American Bistro, Fuji Ya, Me Gusta, the stalls inside both the Midtown Global
Market and Mercado Central, Ingebretsen’s, Town Talk Diner, Craftsman,
Longfellow Grill and many other notable stops." Getting their own individual
spots were Town Talk Diner at #16 for their chocolate-hazelnut waffle, and La
Loma at #34 for their tamales, which are available in the frozen foods
sections of grocery stores like Lunds, Kowalski's, and
Cub.
As of last week, Little Caesars is now open in the
Hi-Lake Shopping Center. They specialize in "hot-n-ready" pizzas,
which are ready to take out when you walk in the door and cost
$5.
Business is booming at the
Midtown
Sheraton. The last week of May, they had their first fully-booked
day, and they're already booked out for the weekend of 7/7/07. The Sheraton is
an important piece of Lake Street's revitalization, and we're pleased to see
them doing well.
