County & City project staff discuss the latest construction updates and listen and respond to business concerns.

July 25th & 26th: Queer Boyz Nite, at Patrick's Cabaret
8:00 PM, 3010 Minnehaha Ave.
Curated by Justin Leaf, Mistress Ginger emcees and performs with an amazing line up including Irita Foucault, Nicolas Lincoln, Scotty Reynolds, Kenny Kiser, and Kats Fukasawa.

July 26th: Indian Cooking Demo, at Midtown Farmers' Market
11:00 AM, corner of 22nd Ave. & East Lake St.
Bombay-native and Minneapolis resident Raghavan Iyer, a Certified Culinary Professional, will be showcasing a recipe from his latest cookbook "660 Curries: The Gateway to Indian Cooking" and copies of the book will be available for purchase at the Market.

July 26th: "Decorate the Well in Gratitude" Water Carnival and Street Fair, at In the Heart of the Beast
1:00 - 6:00 PM, 1500 East Lake Street
Puppet shows, wishing wells, art installations, creative art-making activities, interactive displays and games for all ages, with the dedication ceremony starting at 3:00 PM.

Through July 26th: Driveway Tour 2008, at Open Eye Figure Theatre
7:00 PM Fridays & Saturdays, 506 E. 24th St.
Free family fun, with the puppet shows starting at 7:30, and ice cream and live music until 9:00.

July 27th: One Hot Day, at Midtown Global Market

These two art fairs showcase a variety of creative and original works of art from the Twin Cities area and beyond every year.

Laurel Means reads from her new novel The Long Journey Home, "a fascinating saga set in the 1860s Minnesota prairie and the Dakotas."

August 6th - 11th: Come And Get It, at Open Eye Figure Theatre

"Come and Get It tells the story of Marty, a Minnesota farm boy, who finds himself the recipient of a live threatening accident. While floating in his coma Marty reflects on his family, his wife Shelly, his art, and the family farm." From local author and playwright Kevin Kling.

Early Mornings with Elizabeth Glidden
