Due to low attendance in recent weeks, the weekly construction meetings at the Midtown Global Market have been put on hold. If you have a construction issue you need addressed, we invite you to contact our executive director Joyce Wisdom directly at jwisdom@lakestreetcouncil.org or 612-822-0232.

The 2007 edition of "Starting a Business in Minneapolis: A Practical Guide" is now available. The 2007 edition has updated information on the City of Minneapolis's newly-reorganized Minneapolis Development Review (formerly known as "One Stop.") You can get copies of the Guide without charge by contacting Iric Nathanson at 612-789-7337, ext 14, or inathanson@mccdmn.org.

Catch the Art Car Parade this weekend? Whether you did or not, you might enjoy the Star Tribune's slideshow of the event, with audio.

Don't forget the Midtown Farmer's Market is now open from 3:30 - 7:30 PM on Tuesdays, in addition to their 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM time on Saturdays. And it's not too late to make plans to attend their Market at the Mansion anniversary celebration, taking place Thursday of this week and featuring food from the market prepared by several local chefs. Congratulations to Champions Sports Bar & Grill, one of this year's winners of the Minnesota Restaurant Neighbor Award, given by the Minnesota Restaurant Association. Champions will now go on to compete for the national award.

Photographer of international cultural images, Gail Shore, will narrate a special slide presentation, “Around the World in 80 Slides,” at a reception at the Midtown Global Market. Images from her travels will be available for purchase and she will generously donate the proceeds to the Cultural Wellness Center.

Through October: Sacred Beauty: Treasures from Swedish Cathedrals and Churches, at The American Swedish Institute

A series of four related exhibits share the experiences of Swedish-American faith traditions. The first is "Sacred Beauty: The Augustana Lutheran Tradition." It includes metalwork, textiles, photographs, documents, furniture and more.
