Lake Street News Brief

The Lake Street Council's mission is to build a cohesive strategy to ensure the ongoing vitality of the Lake Street Corridor business community.

The Latest on Lake:

  •  Sundays Energy, a local design and strategy company dedicated to advancing environmental sustainability, is interested in Lake Street. They are currently in the process of promoting a solar thermal service, in which they would fund the installation of a solar hot water system on any commercial building and in return the business pays them a lowered, fixed rate for their energy needs. Natural gas and  electric usage is lessened, and the company is set apart for its environmental consciousness, which may raise revenue. Solar thermal systems are "ideal for laundromats, restaurants, car washes, and any  other businesses that use a significant amount of water." If this interests you, contact Grace McClure at grace@sundaysenergy.com.

  • The Hi-Lake Shopping Center's resurgence is continuing. Aldi and Little Caesars have had great starts, and more new businesses are coming soon. Pineda Tacos, a hair salon, and a cell phone store have all signed up to open a store there. Some national retailers have also expressed interest in the former hardware store site, so that may be filled before too long as well.

  • This year, Lake Street Council is one of the sponsors of the Powderhorn Park 4th of July event. If you'd like to volunteer for that night, you still have the chance to sign up. Contact Elena or Shonda at 722-4817, elena@ppna.org, or shonda@ppna.org.
