Before our next marketing panelon July 24, Lake Street Council is also holding another of our
business-to-business social events. This one is coming up on
Friday the 18th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Merlin's Rest, on the
corner of 36th & Lake. No RSVP necessary, just drop by for an appetizer or
a drink and a chance to chat with your Lake Street neighbors.
The City Council's Transportation and Public Works
committee has voted to establish the East Lake Street Special Service
District, which will stretch from Hiawatha to the river, plus the
strip of 27th Ave. from Lake Street to Minnehaha. Thanks to Council Member Cam
Gordon for the heads-up on that news.
We like to recognize contributions and
participation of our area businesses to organizations and events that need our
support too. Today we thank Schatzlein Saddle for valuable
support of the North Star
Gay Rodeo Association. Be sure to let us know about the sponsorships and
contributions you make to local events.
"Vinyl LP is back in the mainstream," the
Star Tribune reports.
Hymie's Vintage Records at 3318 E. Lake St. is one of the
best local places to get it, and the article includes an interview with
Hymie's co-owner Auralee Likes. Be sure to check
it out.
Meet Minneapolis and other local
convention & visitor bureaus are hosting the 2008 RNC Cab Car Wash
on August 5th, and are looking for businesses who'd like to donate
prizes, food, beverages, coupons, etc. to the event. Those donating would be
promoting their businesses to the city's cab drivers. If you're interested,
contact Maureen Scallen at 612-767-8050 or maureenscallen@meetminneapolis.com,
and make sure to mention that you're doing it through Lake Street
