Lake Street Council's
mission is to build a cohesive strategy to ensure the ongoing vitality
of the Lake Street Corridor business community.
The Latest on
Lake:
Lake Street Council is now offering Facade
Improvement grants through the City of Minneapolis. These
matching grants are part of Minneapolis's Great Streets program. They can be used on facade improvements such as
exterior painting, murals, canopies, and signage. See all the
details and download an application on our website. We
also still have money available through the Fix & Paint
program, all the details about that are on that page as
well.
Last week, the Star Tribune did a feature
story on the large National Night Out event put on in
West Phillips. The positive coverage and great photos in the
story came through a connection made at our latest marketing panel
discussion. This is another good example of Lake Street Council
making connections for the good of the community. Our next panel is coming on
October 9th at Patrick's Cabaret, save the
date now!
In another great example of beautifying
Lake Street, the Young Leaders Program of St. Paul has been working
on a mural of their own, on the alley side of Kaplan
Brothers at 14th & Lake. Be sure to note their good work the next
time you go by.
