Announcements:
-
CPED closed on the easement for the NW triangle portion
of the Hiawatha
Lake intersection in
June. For the next three months,
CPED will move forward with site planning. The area under the bridges has been
identified as a public art opportunity and the focus will be on designing and
constructing public artworks and developing a maintenance strategy. This will support open-ended systems
such as lighting that will enhance the environment and connect it to the
surrounding district. There will be a community presentation on August 21,
from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Resource Center of the Americas to show the work that has
been done thus far and to make people aware of the scope and schedule for the
work.

The sod in front of the Pioneers & Soldiers
Cemetery will be replaced
between the curb and sidewalk. It will be done this fall which will give it a
much better chance of getting established.

Licensing Inspector Rich Tuffs asked us to pass on a request for
assistance. He is having problems with unlicensed ice cream trucks
through out the city. If you see an ice cream truck in the neighborhood look
to if they have a valid green 2007 Minneapolis Mobile Food
Vendor sticker posted on the
side of the vehicle.
If they don’t, please get:
* the
license number
*
vehicle description
*
location of vehicle
* and
time of day it was in the area.
Please
email the info to richard.tuffs@ci.minneapolis.mn.us or call him at 612 673-3911.
