What is a Fix & Paint Grant?Minneapolis Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED) has given the Lake Street Council a $49,000 grant to help support improvements to commercial property in the Lake Street Corridor. Lake Street Council in turn reimburses small businesses up to $3,000 for expenses covered under the Fix & Paint Program. Different projects are reimbursed at different levels. The current program will fund projects while funds remain available. Please note: at present, Lake Street Council has only $1100 left in Fix & Paint funds. When that money is exhausted, we will be exclusively using the Facade Improvement grants detailed lower on this page. Who is Eligible?

Lake Street Council now also has Facade Improvement Grants Available These matching grants come to us through the City of Minneapolis's Great Streets program. They are for use on such facade improvements as exterior painting, murals, canopies, and signage. Matching grants are available up to $5000 and will be matched either on a 1:2 or 1:3 basis, depending on your location on Lake Street.
