Organizing for Power for Small Businesses

Small business owners wrestle with the challenge of running a sustainable business that reflects our values of building healthy communities. The Main Street Alliance hears you and wants to support you in doing this effectively in your local communities.

Main Street Alliance is offering a series of trainings called Organizing for Power for Small Businesses. This is a six-part training opportunity between Monday, January 22, and Monday, February 26.

The trainings will be held virtually every Monday from 11:00 am - 12:15 pm. Each session will last 75 minutes and will address critical topics and skills for organizing effectively:

  • Understanding political power

  • How to build political power

  • Leadership in public life

  • Storytelling

  • Conducting an issue campaign

Session one will flesh out key concepts from our organizing strategy and include a deep dive into:

  • “What is organizing?”

  • “The Power of Storytelling”

Attendees will leave session one with an understanding of how to share their own stories to build relationships and power. The Main Street Alliance believes this is a critical first step in organizing small business power.
