Branding & Marketing

Through our Visit Lake Street initiative, Lake Street Council promotes the commercial corridor as a vibrant destination for visitors and residents alike. Visit Lake Street is sustained by contributions from businesses, private foundations, the City of Minneapolis Great Streets program, and others.

Social Media & Newsletters

We help inform residents, visitors, and potential customers about the latest Lake Street news and events through our @VisitLakeStreet social media. You can find us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. We also put out an awesome newsletter with updates about businesses and events on the street. With over 20,000 followers on these platforms, we work to promote your business, events, and highlight the corridor’s unique cultural assets on a daily basis.

#MyLakeStreet

In 2017 we launched the #MyLakeStreet campaign to highlight the unique contributions of immigrants to the story of Lake Street. Through ads on Metro Transit vehicles and stations and a series of events, we featured stories and photos of individual business owners who came to Lake Street as part of their own family’s immigration story, and who now add to the vibrancy of Lake Street today. We continue to use #MyLakeStreet in our social media to highlight these businesses.

Brochures & Maps

We have put out several themed brochures that create fun and funky experiences for visitors to have on Lake Street. We are always looking for new ways to inspire people to visit somewhere new, whether that be by seeing a show at a new venue or finding a new place to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Merchandise

We are always trying to get people to do our marketing for us, which we’ve found isn’t too hard to do when we put out cool (and often free) merch that people can take home with them. From t-shirts and tote bags to winter hats and water bottles, our Visit Lake Street brand is always out there reminding people to come back to their favorite corridor.
